Vintage Handmade 1949 Haynes Solid Silver Flute This is a Beautiful Vintage Handmade 1949 Haynes Solid Silver Flute. What makes this flute so special is that it is one of the rare closed hole flutes that Haynes manufactured. These flutes were the perfect compliment to the woodwind players collection of instruments. It has that famous Haynes tone and perfect intonation, but as a sax player doubling on flute you didn't have to master the "open hole" technique. Let's talk about the Tone of this flute. The flute speaks quite well through all the registers. The high end is crisp and sweet, while the low end is rich and full. You can really push this flute as well and make it growl if you want to. As I said the intonation is perfect, the action is smooth and the keys are tight.The pads have a lot of life in them, and seat perfectly. The serial number is 20037 dating the flute to 1949. The original case is in good condition and provides good protection to the flute. This is truly a wonderful instrument, and would be a fine addition for any serious player. 1 of the tires has good tread, the other 3 have poor tread. They can be used as a "spare" tire for emergencies, or you can mount your winter tires on the rims in time for winter instead of having to pay each time you have your mechanic mounts or removes your snow tires. $30 for the wheel with good tread, $15 each for the others, or $60 for all 4....
