HS&E Engineer

Job Description Responsible for supporting the execution of all aspects of Novartis's Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance in Melville and Hicksville. Assure compliance with Novartis and Sandoz corporate guidelines, as well as maintaining compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies. Maintain all required documentation associated with HS&E, Safety Data Sheets, and new products/chemicals. Coordinate Health, Safety & Environmental programs. Development, implementation and improvement of HS&E systems and procedures as well as the recognition and reporting of any potentially deficient situations / conditions with recommended corrective actions. Provides management, coordination and/or leadership of site health, safety and environmental programs, including routine assessments and facilitating corrective measures as necessary, and anticipating program needs based on relevant business conditions and developments. Coordinate site-specific environmental, occupational health and safety training to affected employee groups; including regulatory and best management practices. Manage all aspects of waste management, including filing, volume reduction concepts, scheduling and administration. Develop and implement required health, safety and environmental programs and processes. Conduct hazard analyses on all Fougera processes to insure employee safety on an ongoing basis. Assessments for all facilities shall include regulatory and safety liabilities. Represent Fougera on regulatory issues associated with HS&E issues as needed. Timely coordination, collection and input of site HSE data for Data Management System (DMS). Responsible for complete management of Fougera's Safety Data Sheet Program including insuring all SDS's used on site are available, development of new SDS's for new products, evaluation of SDS's and review against current practices, and hazard assessments of new raw materials. Conducts documented investigations of accidents and injuries. Monitors and properly documents employee exposures to hazardous materials and hazardous conditions in the workplace. Coordinates site-specific occupational health monitoring programs. Conducts data tracking and reporting, root cause analysis and trending of injuries, accidents, incidents and near misses. Acts as the chairperson of the Site HSE Committee and participate in the site's HSE Council. Support the development of roadmap to improve HS&E compliance and increased employee safety. Adheres to all applicable procedures, cGMP's, company policies, and all other quality or regulatory requirements (OSHA, DEA, FDA, EMEA, ANVISA, HS&E, etc.). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
