Patient Financial Service Position Summary
Summary:
The Assistant Supervisor of Patient Financial Services in the Inpatient Unit follows the hospitals and department's mission to meet its objectives in maximizing reimbursement for services provided and ensuring timely cash flow.
He/she also strives to facilitate patients and/or their families with payments and assists them with financial hardship in the most cost effective means possible.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program High school graduation or equivalent required.
Experience And Skills Speaks, reads and writes English Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience.
Knowledge of, and experience , third party and manager care insurance coverage.
Good knowledge of, and experience with, third party insurance billing regulations, requirements, and collection procedures.
Good oral and written skills.
Good organizational, planning, and problem solving skills.
Healthcare computer systems knowledge.
Medical terminology and coding knowledge.
License/Certifications Working Conditions Other information:
Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn Extensive periods of time sitting.
Extensive periods of time using a computer.
